Bird's Nest Fern
Asplenium nidus · Aspleniaceae
How it looks
Bird's Nest Fern is a fern with soft, glossy large sword-shaped fronds that spread out from the center in a bird's-nest shape. The fronds are undivided and whole, dark green and glossy. It reaches 16-31 in (40-80 cm) tall.
Bird's Nest Fern (Bird's Nest Fern) has no known toxicity to cats. It's a safe fern that grows in a nest-like shape.
Guide for parents
The nest-shaped rosette of leaves easily draws a cat's attention, but it's a safe plant. The leaves are large, so a broken one is easy to spot — picking up fallen leaves the same day is enough. It loves indirect light and high humidity, making a bathroom or kitchen window a good home. The care point: water the soil, never directly into the central rosette of the leaves.
