Orange Jasmine
Murraya paniculata · Rutaceae
How it looks
Orange Jasmine (Murraya paniculata) is an evergreen shrub distinguished by small, glossy, feather-shaped dark-green leaves and white star-shaped flowers. The blooms are very fragrant, with a scent resembling orange. The leaves and flowers release scent when touched. Height 3-10 ft (1-3 m).
Orange Jasmine is not listed in the ASPCA database, and no toxicity to cats is generally known. A small nibble is unlikely to cause any real trouble.
Guide for parents
Orange Jasmine (Murraya paniculata) is a strongly scented shrub that comes as a potted plant. Chewing the leaves can cause mild vomiting, so it's best kept somewhere out of reach. If you notice symptoms, check for signs of chewed leaves and tell the vet about the exposure. Since it's so strongly scented, also check for diffuser and scented-candle exposure.
